Western Canada’s Scandinavian Songstress, Johanna Sillanpaa was nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year along with her band, Sillan & Young for Group/Duo of the Year at the upcoming Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards. A rare feat for an exclusively Western Canadian group, Johanna and Sillan & Young hope their fans from the West can help propel them to the top with their votes!

After 3 whole days of filming, we are proud to say that soon we will have a new EPK as well as live video!

Happy 2009!
It’s great to be able to start of the new-year with a new album and with new opportunities on the horizon. As a band 2008 was very productive and we are now ready to get out there and tour with ‘Under My Feet’.

It’s been an amazing and very busy summer and there are still so many exciting things on the horizon to look forward too!
My band project 'Sillan & Young' is gearing up to release our sophomore album 'Under My feet' and we need your help with a big decision!
In order for us to really maximize the marketing resources around this CD release we need to pick one song from the album that will be released to radio stations across Canada and beyond!
We have set up a voting system on our "My Space" site and we need you to take a listen to the song options and place your vote on the song that you think will best represent us in a national Radio release!

This is going to be such a great experience and we can hardly wait to get on that stage and perform for such a great crowd! Summer is almost here and we are getting ready to release our new album ‘Under my feet’ soon. We have an upcoming show at ‘Beatniq’ on May 22nd and will be featuring some of the new tunes along with songs from our lead singer Johanna’s solo album ‘Good Life’.

After spending the past month back in the studio we are now proud to announce that our new album is ready to hit the press! This is our second album as a group and this time we had the great pleasure of working with producer Russell Broom (Jann Arden’s Producer & co-writer).
We are all very excited and proud of this album and will make sure to keep you posted on the official release as well as when and where the ‘release concert’ will be held!

We have had a fantastic tour out in eastern Canada and would like to thank all the beautiful people we have met along the way. Good news!!!!
Our Guitarist Aaron Young is back in town from a long touring stint with our friends in the band ‘The Polyjesters’.
We are now very close to wrapping up our new CD and we are all getting quite excited to take this new material and go on the road!
The latest on the production developments is that we’ve decided to add some live strings to a portion of the songs and therefore have to move our CD release till June 2.
I know some of you wish we wouldn’t delay our release, but I promise …..IT WILL BE WORTH IT!!!!!!

Hello friends!
A few exciting things are happening for the band this year..........A new album and a new tour are sure to keep us busy this year. I will keep all the developments posted here on our website, so feel free to come back and check in as often as you'd like.
First I'd like to start off by telling you about our new Album. We've had the great pleasure of working with Producer Russ Broom(Jann Arden) on this album. It's been an amazing experience and we all feel that Russ has really assisted in developing a new fresh sound and has taken our songs to a whole other level. This year we have also added our friend and pianist Chris Andrew to the group, Chris is also featured playing throughout the whole new album.
We are scheduled for a late April 2007 release, the venue is TBA, so please check back with us soon!
